JIP 33 & API 582

What's difference JIP 33 has made to the publication API 582?
All I could see in JIP 33 is that this publication (published by IOG) is a supplementary specification to API 582.
What is the effect anyway?

Straight answer is that JIP 33 changes NOTHING to whatever API 582 says but it makes sure that some general things are specified.
Consider this as supplementary requirements like they are in ASTM.

Yeah, that is what JIP 33 does.
But I would still recommend using JIP 33 in case of critical assets management.
It mandates many of the things like in another post one of our colleagues was discussing about ferrite content.
API 582 says it SHOULD be done before PWHT however JIP 33 mandates that with SHALL statement to perform before PWHT and provide records or the weld is rejected.
It adds requirements of having metallurgical oversight, qualified welding engineer, and approved WPS logic.
It improves traceability requirements, and these all things help a lot when you add them on top of API 582.

Thank you for the feedback.
We have considered including JIP 33 in our regular specifications in addition to API 582.
That's indeed useful.
