Process isolation - blind list

Has there been any good practices available within the industries to control process isolation (blind list) through system other than the manual drawings (P&IDs) supported through the verification in the field? I mean field verification would in any case be required to control this with tagging but just need to understand if there has been any modern techniques applied across the industries?

We are now moving to Digital P&IDs with Isolation Layer function.
A system based training is already underway.
We have been using CMMS as the tool to digitally control the blind list, mark them in system and apply LOTO.
Field verification in any case is mandatory but we were facing within CMMS was that still there wasn't any clear display of how is the current field condition.
With this new proposed system, we can see the blinds, isolation, valve open or closed (a real time display of plant isolation condition with Isolation Layer). No blind /isolation can be update in the system until or unless the field verification is done and permit is closed.

Yes we control that through SAP assisted permit issuance system.
However, P&ID based isolation layer functionality, I am hearing for the first time.
Please share some useful links to study on this.

Elaborate a bit more on this Isolation Layer function, and what solution exactly are you implementing?
Any pointer would help.

Okay I will try,
Digital P&IDs with isolation layers turn isolation control from a drawing exercise into a live safety system.
They don’t replace field verification — they ensure it is never forgotten, never duplicated, and never lost.

Now I would recommend you to look into some details as the solution is available with the following:
AVEVA Diagrams (Intelligent P&ID)
Hexagon Smart P&ID / SmartPlant P&ID
Intergraph / EcoSys integrations
eVision / PermitVision integration

What we are doing is to integrate this with our existing CMMS.

Let me go through this, if I could directly understand the system, and its benefits.
