Hey Guys!!
Was surfing the internet. Found a very good article on Intrinsic Safety. I'm attaching the same here.
Recommend that you all go through this, including I&C and Electrical Engineers, since it very clearly explains the relevance and implementation of Intrinsic Safety in our profession. Moreover, it definitely has quite a bit in it for all engineering students and fresh graduates who intend to develop a sound base on the subject.

The term refers to an intrinsic property of material itself (the material substance). It is independent of the amount of material is present and is independent of the matter is in form (eg, a large room or a set of small parts). The intrinsic property are highly dependent on the chemical composition of matter.
