Design of gas cylinders

Post by arcpro »

Gas cylinders for containing nitrogen / ammonia and other gases are normally made seamless.
How are they designed as per ASME? Also please share their fabrication technique.

Seamless pressure vessels as per ASME are dealt in UF section. For design just go thru UF-12 & UF-13.
Formulas applicable for design thickness of shell and head would stay the same as mentioned in UG section.

Thanks.
How the head is formed as an integral part of the shell?
