Guys,
Can any one help me to get any info regarding above mentioned test. I have heard about some ASTM test standards that describes in details about the possible margins and basis for these standards. Kindly guide me thru.

The subject test is done as per guidelines given in ASME PTC-22, "Performance Test Code on Gas Turbines".
Go thru the same and hope you will find that useful.

tosif, ASME PTC 22 "Performance Test Code on Gas Turbines" does not apply to the following:
(a) Environmental compliance testing for gas turbines for stack emissions and sound levels.
(b) Overall plant power output and thermal efficiency of gas turbine combined cycle and co-generation facilities. PTC 46 will cover those.
(c) Performance of auxiliary systems of the gas turbine such as inlet cooling etc.
in add to above mentioned PTC, you may also require ASME PTC 10 "Performance Test Code on Compressors and Exhauster" - if you have compressor coupled with gas turbine.

Tosif,
PTC-22 provides the guidlines for performance test of gas turbines, and most vendors refer to it while preparing there own performance test procedures. However, based on the guidelines, every vendor advise somewhat different procedures. It includes criteria for stability prior to start of the test, no. of readings to be taken during the test, location / number of instruments which will be used during the test, type of correction factors which shall be applied to the calculated load/heat rate to equate it with reference to design conditions. etc
We recently carried out performance test of GE frame-V gas turbine at our site. Details are available with me if you requried.

That would be great. Do those also covers the aero-derivative type gas turbines.

For ITB / contract purposes, you should ask vendors to provide the GT performance test procedures. Which you can compare with PTC 22 for adequacy. Normally there is no difference for aero-derative turbines.
When requesting a proposal you should ask the vendor to supply detailed specifications of the turbine (as per API-617) with clearly mentioning exceptions (if any) from other applicable APIs (API-613 / 614 / 616 / 671 etc). Additional performance such as degradtion curves shall also be requested.
