Please share some good resources to understand and apply fire damage to the static equipment as per API 579.
General idea level pointers would help too.

Let me just take you through this in very simple way and starting from where we need to end:
"We need to make sure that we have asset integrity restored, verified, and in ready to operate form"
That happens when we win in defining the typical zones:
Severely damaged - replace
Moderately affected - evaluate
Unaffected - OK

Now talking about that how can we reach here. It is a thorough work of engineering judgement, inspection data, and API logic. Not 2 engineers would be able to reach the same decision in case of fire damage.
I would recommend you to go through only L-1 part of API 579 on Fire Damage, which would explain you most of the things which may raise questions.
