CUI Inspection - Latest Publications
CUI Inspection - Latest Publications
Have there been any latest publications (any source) covering advanced CUI inspection for piping & pressure vessels along with minimum required qualifications, equipment etc.?
Re: CUI Inspection - Latest Publications
The most critical recent development is the release of AMPP CUI-RP-101 (Issue 1) in December 2024. This recommended practice provides the first formal industry guidance on the deployment and usage of continuous CUI monitoring systems, allowing asset owners to move from "scheduled checks" to "continuous assurance".
Let me know if you need some more information on this or just get this publication, very useful.

Re: CUI Inspection - Latest Publications
New studies on Electromagnetic Ultrasonic Testing (EMAT) describe the use of non-contact oblique incidence SV waves for high-temperature pipeline inspection, significantly improving the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) for defect recognition in active process environments.

Guys,
I would take this opportunity to suggest you NOIS-G-023 Issue 2 (formally titled HOIS/NZTC Guidance for in-situ inspection of corrosion under insulation). It is widely regarded as a very good guide for selecting and applying non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to detect CUI without removing insulation.
It was developed by HOIS, a Joint Industry Project (JIP) managed by ESR Technology, in collaboration with the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) and major global energy operators (e.g., Shell, BP, TotalEnergies).
Much developed & add a lot to the practical applications.
