APIs on HSE

Post by irish »

Support me in enlisting API Standards, Codes, Guidelines particularly related to Process Safety which could help me understanding the key concepts.
Suggest if there is any better publisher than API on Process Safety.

The core publication would be API 754.
Over and above this consider API 755 as well focusing on fatigue, the major cause of process safety incidents.
Process safety design & analysis, you can refer to API 14C & 14J for offshore facilities.
API 752, 753 & 756 on buildings around process plants, be them the permanent or temporary installations.
Relief devices, loss of containment focus, you can find in API 521, 520, 526 & 527 (flare system design).
There are quite many other useful as well like API 585, focusing on pressure equipment integrity incident investigation.

Do we have some similar APIs like API 585 helping on incident investigation in general?

Though you have focusing on API publications on process safety, I would like you to point to IOGP publication 456.
It has an upstream focus (check in case that interests you) comparing to API 754 which mainly focuses on refining & petrochemicals.
Depending on the Swiss cheese model, you get some barrier oriented approach towards process safety using this one.
Check that out.
