ASME PCC-2 Table of Applicability

Post by novice123 »

I remember PCC-2 once was containing a table of applicability of different types of repair in relation to the type of defects identified.
Do the latest versions not contain that anymore?

Exactly, that was there during 2015 as I remember and after that it was reshaped to be part of the referenced articles. So each repair method has got its only applicability scope within.
Table was useful though.

For a long time, I was looking for that table as well. Even I have kept the older editions with me but honestly I would say that the table could go generic.
To decide if a repair method is valid for a given defect, you must read the specific article (weld buildup, composite wrap, mechanical repair, etc.) and cross-check with the defect description.

Yes, before 2015, we used to refer directly to the tables for application of type of temporary repairs.
I understand the mention within the article has made articles strong.
Each and every paragraph within the section has got its importance, and with this applicability included within the article, this has gone better.
