alarm management has a bit complicated process of reviewing most critical alarms. international society of automation (ISA) has introduced a standard "management of alarm systems for the process industries" ISA-18.2 to provide a framework for the successful design, implementation, operation and management of alarm systems. I have attached two pictures, reflecting brief procedure of alarm management reviewing process, as per said ISA.
