Rules of Thumb for Chemical Engineers

Has anybody gone through this title?
Just need few inputs before I suggest for a purchase for our section.
Published by IChemE and authored by Stephen Hall.
Would it be helpful with some of the basic calculations, references, chemical properties, it would be a good addition to what we have already.

If you have not checked out, "Working Guide to Process Equipment", then that is a good resource to start with as discussing some key aspects of troubleshooting and maintaining process equipment with their operations details included.
5th Edition is available and will help.

What is the criteria to identify, report, and investigate any activation of safety instrumented system?
Should all the cases be reported, and investigated?

Yeah, API 754 in some examples asks /recommends having investigation on the event however there has not been clear specific case to case recommendations.
And there I am trying to understand that do all Tier-3 events should be investigated?
API 585 is clear but that focuses on the integrity part ...
