Re: Operating Pressure Basis - Distillation Tower
Quite a subjective question however operating pressure is determined by optimizing:
Separation efficiency
Energy consumption
Condenser feasibility
Fluid thermal stability
Column size & cost
Utility availability
Safety & equipment limits

Re: Coiled Tubing & Role of Operations Engineer
What exactly this RP covers?
Does that talk about the responsibilities as well?

Good one.

Re: PI Software - Data Capabilities - Control Valve
Yes, that is possible.
Better to take PI admin support if you are not able to pull this data out.
Doing on valve-to-valve plotting basis is not practical if you have a considerable site size.

Re: International References for Flaring & Emissions Control
Most international operators combine:
API 521 / ISO 23251 (Design)
API 537 (Hardware details)
EPA or EU limits (Emission benchmarks)
IFC EHS (Financing requirement)
IOGP methane guidance
ISO 14001 EMS

Re: Identification of drillstring tool failure
Suspect tool failure if you observe:
Sudden torque drop
Unexplained pressure drop
Erratic WOB transfer
Sudden ROP change
Abnormal vibration
Loss of telemetry
Mud leakage at surface
Monitoring of these 7 parameters would help.

Controlling Amine Ratio
In amine production, what are the controlling factors to have effective amine ratio (MEA/DEA/TEA distribution in production) during the process?

Re: Shutdown System & Instrumented Systems
Shutdown systems are often part of SIS architecture but still maintained under a specific shutdown program.
Maintenance too as we have observed with our maintenance teams is also not random.
Every SIF has:
. SIL 1/2/3 rating
. Proof testing interval
. Probability of failure on demand
DUring LOPA and ...

Re: Car seal control of valves - Best practices
I can provide you an auditor perspective, and that should enable you to have a procedure in place:
Is there a register? So you develop one controlled through a procedure
Do seals match register (serial numbers)? Apply within the procedure to have this sort of a control (serial numbers)
Are valves in ...

The Right Check Valve
What are the guidelines to have the right TYPE of check valve installed on a process stream?
Which one to be picked, and how those should be maintained?
