Re: How to convert PN number to ASMI/ANSI Class

Dear saleemsahar

there is no direct relationship between the metric DIN and EN standards from geometrical point of view.
This is imperative to know, then when you want to select a flange rating you will have to determine Maximum Design pressure and associated temperature, then u resort to the ...

Re: Check Valve and Compressor discharge

Dear Ibrahim

Dexter explained very well the locating of the ASCV and I support his view that the anti surge arrangement should be before the check valve you enquired about simply because if the case is not so you may very well end up without anti surge function

Re: Check Valve and Compressor discharge

Dear Ibrahim

A check valve is not a must for a centrifugal compressor stage ...if your question is so open to all odds
however, if the medium being compressed is of a nature that is harmful or risky then u have to think of a check or a double check or even more valving

this should be associated ...

Re: TUBE, TUBE SHEET NALYSIS, TUBE TO TUBE SHEET JOINT

Dears

The work of mr Galala is to the point
however, as you may well have noticed, the ASME Sec VIII Div 1 has a dedicated dsection for the calculations of the tube to tube sheet connection
TEMA has of course detailed procedures,,,in all, both ASME are cross referenced in mechanical design

Re: Seamless pipe vs welded Pipe

a seamless pipe is the standard for a pipe less than 12" dia and could still be obtained for sizes up to 24"
larger sizes are difficult to obtain

welded pipe may result in risks of additional flaws associated with welding
however improved welding technologies is ever reducing the impact of these ...

Re: Control Valve Manifold

as a general rule, the reduced control valve size compared with the pipe size in which it controls the flow makes it more convenient to impose stable control and produces more pressure drop thus reduced flow which is the main purpose of the control valve

however, due to certain restrictions the ...
