Re: Mandatroy heat exchangers tube inspection
There is generally not one universal code saying “every heat exchanger shall have X% of tubes inspected by method Y.”
The applicable NDT method and extent depend on tube material, damage mechanism, exchanger configuration, service, previous inspection results, and the required inspection ...

Re: Hastelloy C-276 Selection
What we know from Haynes International about C-276 is that early nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys faced a major hurdle of welding them caused carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zones, severely stripping away their corrosion resistance. Equipment manufacturers were forced to perform complex ...

Re: Rubber Expansion Joins with & without Control Units
The application of control units is also considered in wide range of operating temperature as well where excessive expansion is expected even when there is proper piping anchor is available. However, application of control units near the pumps is common.

Re: Time based vs Condition based Maintenance
Try to understand this with an example.
A centrifugal pump is currently overhauled every 12 months.
After reviewing five years of maintenance history:
80% of bearings show minimal wear at overhaul.
Vibration consistently increases 8–10 weeks before bearing failure.
Online vibration monitoring is ...

Re: Inorganic Zinc Silicate
IOZ coatings are unforgiving.
Problems can occur with low humidity, high even. Then with steel temperature changes, applied coating is thick or think and then curing.
Poor application may lead to mud cracking, pinholes, poor cohesion, insufficient zinc conductivity, topcoat adhesion problems ...
