Re: Dry Gas Seals

@tosif

Dry gas seals work on the principle of centrifugal force. Sealing gas is pressurized with the rotation of very tiny impellers of dry gas seal.

Below are some salient benefits of Dry gas seals

1. They are more effective for sealing than the conventional floating oil seals.
2. No seal oil ...

Re: Axial Vibration at Outboard bearing of 1410 kW motor

What sort of test are you planning to?
1. You can change the lube oil pressure and temperature and see its effect.
2. See if you can clean the motor fan.
3. See if you can vary the number of drops of lubricator in the stage.
4. Increase in gas pressure can also be useful.
Usually high axial ...

Re: Axial Vibration at Outboard bearing of 1410 kW motor

Never seen such spectrum on a reciprocating compressor. Anyhow spectrum indicates some looseness in the system. Can you send me the peakview data captured with your CSi to determine the effect of impacting in the system.

Re: Spare Lube Oil cooler for a Gas Turbine

It all depends upon how much critical is your service. if you cannot afford a shutdown of your machine due to leaking cooler then you should have a spare cooler
