It is a dynamic analysis which keeps on going supported with inspection results from each inspection performed, external or internal.
Just to make sure you understand much with the following:
Good inspection results > extend interval
Accelerating corrosion > reduce interval
Stable CP + coatings ...

Re: AET & Tank Internal Inspection
See as you may know API 653 limits dependability on AET while considering that as an inspection tool providing quantitative inputs.
You may still use the technique to reconsider performing internal inspection at a later date as some confidence can be gained within RBI.

Re: Generation of AI based Written Schemes of Inspection
If you are starting to do a bulk work of generating written schemes then I would be with you to do that using AI and the kind of formatting and other possibilities, that would be a very good choice to save a lot of time. However, considering the update on existing ones, limit the use of AI. Make ...

Re: PSI vs API 754
That is the point. All contributing elements to updated PSI would be falling in Tier-4 as leading however PSI itself a lagging indicator with gaps.
An important discussion this is.

Re: Buckeye Sampler - HTHA
That is a very localized assessment and HTHA may get skipped from where the sample is taken.
A lot then depends that how the sample is taken.
That is the reason now inspection programs to detect HTHA depends upon ultrasonic methods including backscatter techniques, velocity ratio methods, PAUT, TOFD ...

Re: PetroMarvels - Susbscription
Some very good pieces.
The best thing is the linkage with practicality in the field itself.
I would recommend adding some comments section also with each petromarvel.

NDK Crystal Vessel Rupture, Illinois, 2009
How important this is for us to implement the findings of an incident investigation?
Despite strong recommendations from an outside consultant and its insurer, NDK management did not implement them.
An important to learn from incident involving a pressure vessel rupture due to a combination of ...

Re: ASME Code Design - Learning Sources
You may or may not agree with me but learning the codes is through the codes itself. You would be able to find a lot more guidebooks in getting you on board with all these piping codes but I would strongly recommend you to just read the codes and what you do not understand, take help from some ...

Re: Fire Damage Assessment - API 579
Let me just take you through this in very simple way and starting from where we need to end:
"We need to make sure that we have asset integrity restored, verified, and in ready to operate form"
That happens when we win in defining the typical zones:
Severely damaged - replace
Moderately affected ...
