Welding of duplex stainless steel with austenitic
What is the recommended filler metal for welding of duplex stainless steels to austenitic stainless steel grades?
Should it be austenitic or duplex?
I have seen in my experience people using austenitic and sometimes duplex.

Re: Books on Pipe line Design
Against which code do you want to study piping design?
Want to suggest you the code specific book which would guide you through complete designing of piping and its components.

Re: Hot Spot Temperature
Nice explanation by mechcolor.
I would add that the critical temperature normally defined by the manufacturer / designer is any temperature exceeding the design limit of material mentioned in design specification sheet.
Here we always monitor anything which is abnormal (abnormal means any spot where ...

10) When there are several pipe bends in horizontal plane, the support span must be reduced to 75% of the recommended value so that any eccentric loading may be avoided.

Re: Y coefficient value
Dear Salz,
Yes sure for cast iron, the value of Y should be zero. I was talking about where you are not confirmed that the material is ferritic, asutenitic or ductile.

Re: Y coefficient value
I would agree with Nasir to take a rather safe value for Y where not sure about the material which is 0.4.
