Hi Ali,
You are right...
But do you have any info only how to troubleshoot ground loops... OEMs do provide recommended procedures/techniques to avoid ground loops.. but I haven't seen any ground loop troubleshooting methods/procedures/recommendations etc...

Sameen

Re: Events triggered by digital input in PLC
Hi Ali,
IO Module triggers ON state when voltage measured crosses ON threshold and same for OFF state..
It totally depends on the detection technique used...
OFF->ON event is reported by Input module when measured voltage crosses ON threshold i.e. measured voltage < 6Vdc (it may vary from PLC to ...

Re: Time Stamp functionality in the DCS....
Hi Aly,
A DCS scan includes following tasks:
1) Reading signals from Input modules
2) Input Signal Processing
3) Execution of Control Logic (i.e. PID, batch process, calculation etc.)
4) Output Signal Processing
5) Sending Signals to Output modules
Task 1 & 5 take most of the time in completion ...

Re: System testing - Whose responsibility is it....???
Hi Ashfaq,
First of all engineers should concentrate in their own field of expertise... I don't know what expertise you or any one hold in mechanical engineering or some other discipline... but it is morally incorrect for me to suggest anything to you for which I don't have adequate knowledge ...

Hi Moe,
First of all, you should remember where are you in the forum... this section is for Electrical & Instrumentation... so all discussion will be related to it there is no confusion or doubt in it... when I say project.... by default it means E&I Project or I&C Project...
If you do understand ...

Hi Moe,
You have described QA/QC Engineer roles for mechanical project, any mechanical engineer can perform such responsibilities with no difficult, as most of work is physical rather than technical. Whereas, I&C Project, a great deal of different technologies are used and without knowing ...

Hi Ruby,
Well.. I don't agree with the explanation and concept of DCS...
Please go through the queries again, may be you'll be able to understand what I am asking???

Re: System testing - Whose responsibility is it....???
Hi Moe,
So QA/QC engineers, they are not part of design & engineering then how come they have the right to approve/reject test, as they don't know what is the objective of the test??
What is the role of QA/QC engineers in organization... either they are just there to make sure, we fill up all the ...
